Principal's message:

The fourth oldest college of undivided Assam, Madhab Choudhury College (M.C.College), Barpeta was established in 1939 in pre-independent India when the entire nation rose united against the colonial rule. It served a large number of students from far fetched areas of lower Assam in their pursuit of higher education. Since then the college has been undergoing a relentless process of growth and today is a premier institute of higher learning in Assam. The aim of the college is to create well trained human resources who will be intellectually, physically and culturally strong and will involve themselves in all round development of our country.

In the present context M.C.College has been engaged in implementing the new changes brought in the higher education scenario by its regulatory authorities. The smooth implementation of semester system introduced by Gauhati University recently is in the process. In parallel to the traditional courses, it has already planned to open vocational courses in order to inculcate the feelings of self-confidence and self-dependence in the mind of the students. It has not only been imparting knowledge to the students but also playing active role in the examination and evaluation mechanism every year. The College is also having a self sustained Information Technology Department for the last decade.

The M.C.College family has tried to offer service to the society in the best of its capacity. But it is quite natural that there may be ample scope for improvement and upgradation. It is from the students, both present and old, their guardians and the society at large that M.C.College expects all types of constructive criticism and suggestions which will in the long run equip the college with better avenues to serve the students community and society at large in a meaningful way.
